Two more suspects arrested for questioning in hunt for missing Russian siblings in Thailand
Police arrested two suspects as the search for two missing Russian siblings in Thailand enters its fifth day.
The men, identified only as 'Suea Hoi' and 'Phang', were detained in coordinated raids on Thursday, July 30.
Police said they allegedly helped recently released inmate Thana Kerdthong, 43, and Thongchai Srinil, 39, evade capture by hiding them in a motorcycle sidecar covered with a tarpaulin.
The pair were also accused of helping bury the dismantled Honda motorcycle belonging to the missing siblings, Diana Nazimova, 22, and her brother Roman Nazimova, 17, who were last seen being followed by a motorist along a frontage road in Pattaya before mysteriously vanishing on July 26.
Footage shows officers detaining Suea Hoi as he was riding a motorcycle from his mother's home. He was then escorted to Phang's house, where the second suspect was arrested.
Both men denied any involvement and claimed they did not know Thana or Thongchai. They remain in custody at the Huai Yai Police Station as officers continue questioning them.
Police said they have obtained arrest warrants for Thana and Thongchai on suspicion of 'jointly stealing property at night using a vehicle, or receiving stolen property'.
They also deployed sniffer dogs on Thursday to comb the Sattahip and Huai Yai districts for the youngsters.
Authorities have been searching for Diana and Roman since they went missing in Pattaya on Sunday, July 26.
CCTV reportedly showed them greeting guards at the security booth of the housing estate as they drove away on a black Honda ADV motorcycle, at around 4:02 am local time.
They were later seen speaking with an unidentified motorcyclist under the Chak Ngaeo motorway bridge.
The pair were then seen riding along a frontage road near Wat Bang Yai, with another motorcycle closely following them at around 4:31 am.
Just minutes later, they passed the traffic lights under the Ban Sak Ngaeo motorway bridge before vanishing from the cameras.
Their mother Zarina Nazimova, 40, said she has been living in Pattaya since 2018, and her children joined her in 2021. Neither of the youngsters can speak Thai.
Police are appealing for information on the missing siblings' whereabouts as the search continues.
