British businessman, 39, ‘stabbed by trans partner, 22, during fight over crystal meth'

A British businessman was seriously injured when he was allegedly stabbed by his transgender partner in a suspected fight over crystal meth.

Scott Phillip Lummis, 39, from Harrow, north London, reportedly accused his Thai partner Anothai Amathong, 22, of stealing his drug stash from his apartment in 'Sin City' Pattaya on September 28.

He allegedly forced Anothai to bathe and wash her hair because he suspected she had hidden the drugs in her long locks. He then reportedly threatened to detain her.

But Anothai was said to have slashed at the Brit with a knife before plunging it into his abdomen during the altercation.

The Brit, who had previously ran two companies in the UK, was left bleeding heavily from wounds to his shoulder, arm and abdomen as Anothai fled the room to seek help.

Scott was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood when police arrived at the Khaotalo Residence, at around 12 noon.

Officers discovered signs of a struggle inside the room, including bloodstains and belongings scattered across the floor.

Around 100g of suspected crystal methamphetamine was allegedly found packed in zip-lock bags inside a black bag, with some of the substance scattered on the bed. Syringes and other suspected drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Cops recovered from the scene a 14-inch knife with a katana-like hilt.

Scott was slumped on the side of a bloodstained mattress, with a stab wound on his torso.

The tattooed Brit was given first aid before being placed on a gurney, where he was seen smoking a cigarette despite his injuries. He later lost consciousness and was rushed to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to undergo surgery.

Anothai was also at the scene with injuries to her left hand and fingers.

Before being taken to hospital, she allegedly told police she was in a relationship with Scott and claimed the British man had become paranoid and accused her of stealing crystal meth.

He reportedly told police he grabbed the sword and slashed and stabbed the Brit during the struggle before fleeing downstairs and seeking help from locals.

Police stressed that the circumstances of the confrontation remain under investigation.

Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and examining the evidence while investigating who owned the suspected drugs. Both injured parties have reportedly been detained pending further questioning and medical clearance, with police expected to determine what charges, if any, should follow.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Nakhonrat Nonsilat, an investigation officer at Nong Prue Police Station, said investigators were still piecing together what exactly happened inside the apartment.

He said: ‘The person who rents the room was the British man, Scott Phillip Lummis. He had been staying there alone, at Khaotalo Residence.

'We have not yet received a statement from the trans woman, so we do not know how long they had been in a relationship or exactly what happened between them before the incident.

‘The British man is currently undergoing surgery. From the initial information we have, he appears to have suffered a stab wound to the stomach. Both parties were taken to hospital, so we have not been able to question them in detail yet.

‘As for the substance found inside the room, it is believed to be crystal meth, or ice, but the investigative team is still examining it. They have not yet sent me the results, so I cannot confirm the substance or its weight at this stage.

‘Regarding reports that Mr. Anothai claimed the British man forced him to undergo a body search because he suspected him of stealing crystal meth, we still have to investigate. The officers took him to hospital and have not brought him back to me for questioning or arrest.

‘The weapon involved was a knife. We do not yet know who it belongs to.'

'At this stage, we have not yet checked the CCTV footage, so we do not know what happened immediately before the incident or whether the cameras captured Mr. Anothai leaving the room carrying the knife.

‘The British man is currently receiving treatment at hospital. Once Mr. Anothai has completed his treatment, we will probably arrest him first in connection with the assault.

'Regarding the suspected drugs, we will have to consider a separate charge once he has completed his treatment and once the substance has been properly examined.

‘At this stage, we do not have yet information indicating that the British man was a drug dealer.'
